Extra long standby and talk-time

Sony's unique Lithium Ion battery delivers up to 180* hours standby-time and up to 6** hours Talk-time with the standard battery. Use of an optional extended battery increases standby-time up to 250*** hours and talk-time up to 8 hours 20 minutes**.

The combination of Jog Dial and T9™ Text Input makes writing a SMS fast and fun. One key-press per character and an internal dictionary provides you with a list of optional words in the preview bar. The CMD-CD5 also offers you five predefined messages which can be individualised to best address your messaging needs.

With the T9™ text input software you can write a word by tapping each key only once per letter. The animation shows how the word "Sony" is typed by clicking the keys in the following order: 7, 6, 6, and 9.

If a combination of keys can create more than one word, the system will offer a list of words to select with the JogDial.
